The majority of our products are carefully made by hand out of durable waxed canvas (a few are made out of plain cotton canvas).
They require very little after-care since waxed canvas ages and wears nicely over time.
Since I often get the question if my products can be washed, I decided to publish a comprehensible answer.

The simple answer is... NO!

Just as you wouldn't was a leather product, you won't be able to wash or dry clean waxed canvas goods. Waxed fabrics have been successfully used for many years without washing. Occasional cleaning with a damp cloth usually suffices.

If you do wish to refinish your waxed canvas item to make it more water resistant and give it some new life, I recommend using Otter wax products. They have a wide range of fabric care products of a very high quality.

Another reason why I like Otter wax is because I highly agree with their standards and morals.
From their website:

"We believe that Mother Nature has given us all the tools we need to create products for everyday life. We use natural ingredients that come from sustainably harvested sources and offer the least amount of environmental impact.

Otter Wax products are made from natural plant-based ingredients and humanely harvested beeswax and lanolin without sacrificing effectiveness. At Otter Wax we’ve always been passionately against animal testing. We never have, and never will use animals to test our products.

We only use suppliers that match our environmental values. We are always working to redefine and strengthen our relationships with suppliers and engaging ongoing dialogue."

Et voilà, now you know!
